Heavy Vehicle Operators Wanted

As a heavy vehicle operator with our organization, you will play a vital role in transporting goods and materials safely and efficiently across the country.

The primary responsibility of this position is to operate heavy vehicles, such as trucks, to transport cargo or materials. This involves driving long distances, working in remote locations, and adhering to strict safety protocols.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Operate heavy vehicles to transport goods and materials.
  • Conduct daily pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure operational safety.
  • Load and unload cargo with multiple drops.
  • Secure proof of deliveries and return relevant documentation.
  • Ensure load restraint is performed according to heavy vehicle load restraint guidelines.
  • Maintain radio contact with the base or supervisor.
  • Complete necessary delivery paperwork efficiently.
  • Take orders for new deliveries as required.
  • Maintain truck logs in accordance with State and Federal regulations.
  • Report incidents encountered on the road.
  • Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs.
  • Refuel, clean the truck, and wash windows after each trip.
  • Keep records of materials and products transported.
  • Maintain a log of activities.
  • Keep the truck and associated equipment clean and in good working order.
  • Plan routes using maps or satellite tracking.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • AQF Certificate II or III.
  • Valid Australian heavy vehicle licence.
  • Minimum of 1 year's recent heavy/multi-combination driving experience.
  • Demonstrate sound geographic knowledge of Australia-wide routes.
  • Be highly reliable with a strong focus on safety and customer service.
  • Fatigue Management Certificate.
  • Able to pass drug and alcohol tests and a pre-employment medical.
  • MSIC Card or willingness to obtain one.
  • Load restraint certificate.
  • Require DG Licence or willingness to obtain one.
