Roof Plumbing Apprenticeship

The primary function of a Roof Plumbing Apprentice is to install and repair metal roofs, flashings, gutters, and downspouts. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Selecting and installing roof sheeting and wall cladding.
  2. Interpreting plans and specifications to determine plumbing quantities.
  3. Cutting and joining sheet metal.
  4. Flashing penetrations through roofs and walls.
  5. Installing roof coverings on curved roof structures.
  6. Collecting and storing rainwater.
  7. Operating elevated work platforms.
  8. Erecting and dismantling restricted height scaffolding.
  9. Fabricating and installing roof drainage systems.
  10. Utilizing power tools, e.g., electric/battery drills, power saws, grinders, and laser leveling devices.

To be considered for a Roof Plumbing apprenticeship, the following requirements must be met:

  1. A willingness to develop skills and knowledge in this trade.
  2. Being punctual and having a strong work ethic.
  3. Being a safe and confident worker, utilizing initiative, and working effectively in a team.
  4. Willingness to travel.
  5. Holding a White Card (or being willing to obtain prior to commencing).
  6. Preferring hands-on and manual work.
  7. Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively.
  8. Having a car and driver's license due to site changes.
