This exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Workshop Machining Leading Hand to oversee a team of skilled Fitters/Machinists at our Geraldton workshop.

About the Role:
  • Leading a team of 3 Machinists/Fitters in a dynamic workshop environment.
  • Responsibility for ensuring the efficient operation of the workshop, including supervising tasks and prioritizing workloads.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising and coordinating activities of workshop staff.
  • Maintaining high standards of productivity, quality, and safety within the workshop.
  • Coordinating machinery maintenance and repairs.
  • Participating in ongoing professional development to enhance knowledge and skills.

Requirements:
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as a supervisor or leading hand in a related industry.
  • A Trade Certificate in Fitting and Machining is essential.
  • A current White Card and Construction Industry permit are also required.
  • The successful applicant must be able to provide a current Police Clearance certificate (obtained within the past 12 months).
  • A valid Driver's License is necessary for travel to workshops.

Other Abilities:
  • Technical Skills: Experience with machining operations, including milling, manual lathes, CNC programming, hydraulic presses, and balancing machines.

  • Safety & Compliance: Familiarity with safe work practices, OHS protocols, and mining standards.
