We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our Group Reporting and Advisory team, where you'll play a critical role in shaping our financial policies and ensuring compliance with emerging ESG reporting requirements.
About the Role
- Collaborate with our sustainability reporting team to develop and implement controls and processes to ensure AGL's compliance with ESG reporting standards.
- Provide expert technical accounting advice on complex transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and derivatives.
- Develop and maintain AGL's enterprise-wide accounting policies, ensuring they remain fit for purpose as the business evolves.
- Contribute to the professional growth and continuous learning of our finance team.
- Prepare and coordinate board-level reports that provide strategic insights into key financial decisions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across all levels of seniority and business lines.
- Coordinate with external auditors to ensure seamless audit processes and compliance with financial reporting standards.
- Oversee and manage reporting-related projects, ensuring timely delivery and scope adherence.
About You
- Proven technical accounting expertise, with a strong understanding of consolidation accounting.
- Experience in complex accounting matters, including M&A transactions, group consolidations, and derivatives.
- Qualified accountant (CA/CPA) with consulting experience, preferably with a Big 4 background.
- Experience with large ERP systems, preferably SAP.
- Advanced stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and inform stakeholders effectively.
- Proactive and able to manage priorities with minimal supervision and direction.
- Collaborative team player, with a willingness to share knowledge and experience to develop others.
