About the Role

The Project Site Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting the coordination of trades and maintaining work quality to meet project goals. This entails supporting the management of onsite quality control, the RFI system, document control, resolving technical issues, aiding in site activities, and ensuring accurate record-keeping.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quality Control and Assurance: Assist with the coordination of onsite activities and day-to-day running of the project, whilst ensuring high standards of quality are adhered to.
  • Quality Management: Effectively manage the Quality Control System which includes production of the ITP's, organising inspections, complying with Hold and Witness Points, submitting ITP's to the client and reviewing and distributing responses to the relevant parties, monitoring quality on site and identifying non-conformances, reviewing project documentation for quality requirements and complying with Project Quality Plan.
  • Document Control: Management of document control system for the project.
  • Troubleshooting and Resolution: Identify and assist with the resolution of technical and quality issues onsite and NCR's.
  • Project Coordination: Assist with completion of construction activities on schedule with the aim of achieving no safety or industrial incidents.
  • Communication: Conduct effective and professional communication regarding project matters with all project stakeholders.
  • Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and high-quality site records, in accordance with DCOH IMS requirements.
  • Contract and Project Knowledge: Be conversant with all contract and project documentation, which includes drawings, specifications and schedules, construction program and all relevant project plans and relevant project correspondence.
  • Quality Inspections: Ensure the provisions of the project quality plan are being upheld, manage and facilitate quality inspections, ensuring the quality of the product is maintained throughout the project.
  • Quality Assurance: Resolve all quality assurance matters raised and ensure corrective actions are undertaken and perform verification functions as detailed in the project quality management plan and reject defective works, workmanship and materials and ensuring that corrective actions are recorded and resolved.
  • Reporting and Recommendations: Provide reports and recommendations to the Senior Project Manager on matters concerning the projects.
Occupational Health and Safety Responsibilities

The Project Site Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that the provisions of the Workplace Health & Safety Act are observed and adhered to.

  • Health and Safety Management: Assist with the identification, preparation, and implementation of project Safety procedures.
  • Safety Awareness: Promote safety awareness at every opportunity and lead by example.
  • Safety Training: Assist with identifying safety training requirements.
  • Equipment and Plant Maintenance: Ensure safe equipment and plant is provided and maintained.
  • Safety Audits and Inspections: View safety audits and inspection reports and initiate action/rectification where necessary.
  • Subcontractor Compliance: In conjunction with the Senior Project Manager and Site Manager, assist and monitor subcontractor compliance with Project Safety Plan and Procedures.
Environmental Management Responsibilities

The Project Site Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that the provisions of Acts under the NT EPA jurisdiction are observed and adhered to.

  • Environmental Management: Assess and adhere to the site objectives and targets for Environmental Management.
  • Hazardous Chemicals and Substances: Ensure adequate storage is available for hazardous chemicals and substances.
  • Erosion and Sediment Control: Ensure all erosion and sediment control measures are in place and are managed.
  • Environmental Reports and Inspections: Action environmental reports and carry out environmental inspections.
  • Hazard Reports and Corrective Actions: Investigate hazard reports and ensure corrective actions are undertaken.
  • Environmental Issue Resolution: Manage the resolution of environmental issues.
Requirements

To be successful for this role, you will need the following:

  • Tertiary Qualification: A Tertiary Qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Ability to develop knowledge of other engineering/construction disciplines and commercial functions including contract administration.
  • Teamwork and Independence: Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • White Card and Work Rights: White Card and Full work rights.
