The position plays a critical role in the delivery of APRA's vision of modernizing its prudential architecture, transforming its technology and data, and cultivating an agile and engaged organization.

Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager within the Technology division, the Senior Systems Engineer is a member of the Core Infrastructure team. Primary stakeholders are the Head of the Chief Technology Officer and CIO, other product teams within the Technology department, and all staff members within APRA as the Core Infrastructure provides the foundation for many of the Technology solutions at APRA.

Main Responsibilities
  • Administer, implement, configure, and maintain infrastructure hardware and software components;
  • Perform maintenance patching and hardening activities as required;
  • Identify and remediate cyber-related issues and vulnerabilities relating to any infrastructure components;
  • Converged infrastructure implementation, configuration, and maintenance;
  • Storage hardware implementation, configuration, and maintenance;
  • Design, deploy, and maintain infrastructure solutions and components based on the needs of the Technology department, wider APRA organization, and best practices;
  • Secure administration (and the implementation of it);
  • Firewall administration;
  • Delivery of projects, both working autonomously and part of a larger group;
  • Create, update, and maintain documentation for the infrastructure solutions as they evolve;
  • Interstate travel to branch office for maintenance and auditing purposes; and
  • After-hours maintenance activities.
