Network Support Specialist

Our organization provides telecommunications solutions to businesses, delivering fast and reliable internet and phone system services with exceptional customer support and technical assistance available.

The network support role involves maintaining and monitoring our clients' networks, as well as provisioning and troubleshooting.

  • Maintaining and monitoring of client networks (route servers, transit network, peering network, server infrastructure)
  • Executing project work including new site installations and migrations
  • Identifying and proposing improvements to networks and processes, especially where automation can be applied
  • Participating in a 24/7 on-call rotation
  • Providing guidance and support to clients in determining and recommending peering needs
  • Identifying approaches that leverage clients' resources and provide economies of scale
  • Sourcing industry information to ensure clients stay at the forefront of peering technology
  • Assisting with new and existing member enquiries about our services and benefits
  • Engaging with clients to facilitate feedback and assist in developing new clients
  • Collaborating with internal and external contacts
  • Stakeholder engagement with internal and external contacts
  • Attending relevant events, forums, and industry associations
  • Ensuring WH&S compliance and maintaining a safe working environment
  • Demonstrated strong service provider networking knowledge across multiple vendors
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Relevant tertiary degree or equivalent work experience
  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills with self-directed ability
  • Desirable: demonstrated moderate to advanced Linux skills
  • Proven ability to work autonomously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in network automation, including tooling and process
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of the telecommunications industry, both locally and globally
