Land Tenure and Native Title Specialist
">This role plays a pivotal part in assisting resource companies, government agencies, pastoralists, and Prescribed Bodies Corporate (PBCs) in navigating complex tenure landscapes, statutory approvals, and land access negotiations.
">Candidates with qualifications in social sciences, law, planning, or related fields will be well-suited to this role.
">Key Responsibilities:">- Negotiate Indigenous Land Use Agreements (ILUAs) and other land access arrangements on behalf of proponents and/or native title holders.">
- Provide strategic advice to PBCs, pastoralists, and industry stakeholders on land access issues, focusing on tenure, native title, cultural heritage, and agreement-making.">
- Advise on competing and multiple land uses in the context of native title, mining, infrastructure, pastoral, and conservation activities.">
Candidates must have experience effectively engaging with Traditional Owners, PBCs, government agencies, and industry stakeholders.
">A strong understanding of the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth) and Future Acts processes, including ILUAs, is also required.
