Job Description

The Department of Health, Tasmania is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team as a Clinical Care Specialist.

This rewarding role will involve working in a secure environment at the Ashley Youth Detention Centre, providing high-quality care to consumers. As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver person-centered care that is evidence-based and trauma-informed.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting biopsychosocial assessments and developing individualized care plans in consultation with the consumer, their carers, and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Providing therapeutic engagement and monitoring the mental state and response to treatments.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of nursing strategies in meeting anticipated patient outcomes and participating in the development and revision of organisational documentation, policies, and procedures.
  • Completing all required clinical documentation within specified timeframes, predominantly via electronic consumer records systems.

You will be expected to possess current knowledge of nursing principles, procedures, and practices, as well as sound interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge of continuous quality improvement (safety and quality) and the application of evidence-based practice in the practice setting is also essential.
