Role Overview
We're seeking a skilled Data Architect to join our Commodities and Global Markets Data Technology team. As a Junior Data Architect, you will play a key role in designing scalable and reusable physical data models for our innovative data platform.
You'll work closely with engineers, business SMEs, data modellers, and the Group Data Office to assist in building out our data model working groups, engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and reviewing data model and reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in designing scalable and reusable physical data models as part of our Commodities and Global Markets data model working groups.
- Engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders to review data model and reporting requirements.
- Work closely with engineers, business SMEs, data modellers, and the Group Data Office to build out our data model working groups.
Requirements
1-2 years' experience in data architecture or data modelling, with a focus on hands-on design to support engineering outcomes.
Some knowledge of data warehousing and data platform concepts and data modelling techniques.
Understanding of relational databases and SQL, particularly with experience writing SQL for data profiling purposes.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with a focus on bridging the gap between technical and non-technical audiences.
Hands-on experience with Python for data-related tasks and automation.
Knowledge of version control systems, particularly Git, and platforms like Bitbucket.
Experience with data modelling tools, such as Erwin Data Modeler would be highly valued, but not mandatory.
