Position Overview
Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is on the lookout for a highly skilled and seasoned legal expert to take on the role of Senior Corporate Counsel Manager. This position is pivotal in our mission to support scientific advancement and enhance the well-being of communities globally.
In this capacity, you will spearhead and oversee a team dedicated to delivering legal guidance to our operations in the ANZ region, working in tandem with both regional and global teams on a diverse array of legal and compliance challenges. As a vital member of the ANZ Leadership Team, your contributions will be instrumental in driving our overarching business strategy while ensuring adherence to legal standards and corporate policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all facets of legal and compliance issues within ANZ, encompassing commercial, competition, governance, intellectual property, litigation, and regulatory matters.
- Collaborate closely with the ANZ leadership and regional/global teams on commercial agreements and proposals, offering legal insights on various business matters.
- Partner with regional and global teams to create and execute a compliance framework that aligns with the company’s ethos and local regulations.
- Engage with business units across ANZ on diverse topics, including promotional practices and product liabilities.
- Build and manage a robust legal team.
- Formulate and execute an annual operational strategy for ANZ, including personnel and budget oversight.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 15 years of legal practice in Australia.
- Experience in representing companies within the healthcare, life sciences, or other regulated industries.
- Demonstrated ability to engage with large corporations and apply various legal strategies.
- Strong business acumen, sound judgment, and exceptional influencing capabilities.
- Proficient in developing practical procedures and driving initiatives to fruition.
- Experience in team leadership and management, with excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
