Job Title: Trade Assistant

We are currently seeking a skilled Facilities Tradesperson to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the removal/disposal of designated assets within lab environments, working with in-house/contracted suppliers.
  • Carry out regular light bulb replacements across the workspace to ensure optimal lighting conditions.
  • Perform essential safety measures activities including inspection and maintenance of fire doors, smoke doors, egress, and relevant repair and maintenance works.
  • Conduct routine cleaning and maintenance of fleet cars at regular intervals, adhering to PM schedules.
  • Respond promptly to break downs such as replacement of tyres and similar issues when required.
  • Coordinate general cleaning works in accordance with PM schedules, ensuring adherence to established protocols.
  • Clean exhaust ducts located within lab spaces as part of preventative maintenance.
  • Facilitate/coordinate cleaning of lab and office-based workstations/under benches/floors to enable cleaning staff to perform relevant activities efficiently.
  • Supervise contracted staff e.g. cleaning staff, removalists, suppliers etc. while performing specialist cleaning activities.
  • Contribute to and develop relevant SOP/SWMS in respect to designated activities as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Previous trade assistant experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude is essential.
  • Moderate computer skills are necessary for this role.
  • Previous customer services experience is preferred.
  • Prior experience working with hand and power tools is highly desirable.
