About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead our capital works projects in alignment with the Shire's vision and Strategic Community Plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage a team of Project Managers, a Project Engineer, and a Project Support Officer.
  2. Oversee project delivery, ensuring timely, cost-effective outcomes while pursuing continuous improvement in contract administration and project management.
  3. Develop and mentor staff, fostering growth and achieving project goals.
  4. Ensure compliance with relevant statutory obligations, Shire policies, and procedures.
  5. Prepare documentation, including project briefs, tender documents, and expressions of interest briefs.

Requirements:

  1. Degree: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 5 years in team management.
  3. Project Management Experience: Significant experience managing projects, contractors, consultants, and service providers.
  4. Expertise: Proven expertise in contract documentation, management, quality assurance, and competitive tendering.
  5. Financial and Technical Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge and skills in financial budgeting, legal aspects, and technical requirements related to major project development and management.
  6. Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Advanced skills in problem-solving, negotiation, dispute resolution, verbal and written communication, and report writing.
  7. Organizational Skills: Highly developed organizational and time management abilities.
  8. Certification: Construction Induction Training Card (White/Blue Card).
