Workforce Extensions is seeking a skilled and quality-focused 2nd Class Welder to join their team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading Australian manufacturer of electrical switchboard facilities based in Thomastown.

As a 2nd Class Welder, you will play a pivotal role in assembling cutting-edge electrical switchboard facilities.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Proven experience in MIG welding stainless steel and aluminium.
  • Able to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to pass a weld test.
  • Following all required safety and administrative procedures.
  • Metal fabrication experience.
  • Light structural steel welding.
  • Comfortable grinding and cutting metals.
  • Ability to read fabrication drawings.
  • Able to start immediately.
  • Ongoing work with the possibility of going full-time.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in welding MIG mild steel and aluminium is essential.
  • Physically fit and healthy.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Initiative, punctuality, and reliability.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work closely with others.

About the Role:

  • This is a temp-to-perm opportunity for the right candidate.
  • Work Monday to Friday with Saturday work available.
  • Experience in a similar role is desirable.
