Cloud Systems Engineering Role

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Systems Engineer to design and deliver innovative cloud-based solutions using open-source technologies.

About the Position:

This is a full-time, 12-month contract with potential extension. The ideal candidate will collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and deliver technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and enhance cloud-based applications using open-source technologies such as Java and/or Kotlin.
  • Implement cybersecurity requirements in alignment with industry best practices.
  • Produce clear documentation, including technical standards and design specifications.
  • Support and continuously improve critical business applications within a DevOps environment.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin programming languages.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerization.
  • Proven experience working with open-source databases and data storage solutions.
  • AWS or Azure cloud expertise, with knowledge of cloud security and compliance.

Preferred Skills:

  • Node.js and TypeScript for server-side development.
  • Java Virtual Machine (JVM) platform and JVM-based technologies.
  • Kafka and event-driven systems for real-time data processing.
  • Timeseries databases and data analytics platforms.
  • Experience with XTDB or similar open-source DBs.
