Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Advisor to join our Traffic Management Centre team. As a Senior Advisor, you will play a critical role in maintaining the efficiency and safety of Queensland's road network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee real-time operations of the state-controlled road network, ensuring the allocation and monitoring of resources to optimize network performance outcomes.
  • Identify performance benchmarks, gaps, and opportunities for improvement to enhance operating procedures, work instructions, and quality of information in systems to ensure consistency and work with other Senior Advisors to support implementation across the State.
  • Promote best practice processes and practices through development and training of staff.
  • Manage the concept planning, project development, and delivery of network management projects in consultation with Principal Advisor (Real-time Network Management) and key stakeholders.
  • Supervise and coordinate resource allocation, encouraging effective teamwork and building a high-performing workforce.
  • Prepare and review reports, disruption plans, and correspondence, contract, and procurement documentation.
  • Contribute to processes that support District and Regional disruptive event management teams (DEMT) during the planning, preparation, response, and recovery phases of major disruptive events.

About You:

  • Experience in making insightful decisions while leading a multi-disciplined team.

Mandatory Qualifications and Conditions:

  • The role supports real-time traffic management centre operations and participates in an on-call arrangement for 7 days at least once every 6 weeks.
  • Some after-hours, weekend, or public holiday work may be required subject to operational needs.
  • Travel may be a requirement of this position and determined on business need.
  • Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
