Are you a skilled and detail-oriented individual looking for a rewarding role in the aged care industry?

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Cold Larder Assistant to join our team at Thornleigh.

As a Cold Larder Assistant, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality food service to residents and guests. You will work independently and within a small staff team to implement, monitor, and evaluate food safety programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop positive relationships with residents and colleagues.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of food safety programs.
  • Support the decision-making process for healthy menus and food preparation.
  • Prepare and serve food in a timely and hygienic manner, demonstrating sound food handling practices.
  • Ensure all workplace health and safety and hygiene procedures are followed.
  • Wash and clean duties as required.
  • Adhere to residents' dietary requirements.

Essential Criteria:

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Demonstrated experience working independently and as part of a small team.
  • Understanding of food service in relation to aged care.
  • Previous experience in hospitality or aged care.
  • Current Food Handler's Certificate.
  • Knowledge and experience of food safety and hygiene requirements.
