Job Description

A challenging opportunity for an experienced HSE Specialist to join our team in Perth, WA. As a Senior HSE Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our projects meet the highest standards of Health, Safety, and Security.

About the Role

You will be responsible for developing and implementing HSS & ER Plans, conducting reviews to ensure compliance with industry standards, and collaborating with subject matter experts to support HSS & ER requirements. Additionally, you will participate in risk management workshops, support contract owners in meeting HSS requirements, and facilitate assurance activities including audits.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop project Health Safety, Security (HSS) & Environmental Management and Emergency Response (ER) Plans.
  • Conduct HSS reviews to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Implement and maintain HSS & ER aspects of Project HSE Management Plans.
  • Participate in HSS & ER risk management workshops.
  • Support project contract owners in meeting HSS requirements.
  • Collaborate with SMEs to support HSS & ER requirements.
  • Facilitate HSS & ER assurance activities, including audits.
  • Assist with hazard and incident management and reporting.
  • Prepare and deliver HSS & ER training sessions.
  • Monitor decommissioning and project operations for compliance.
  • Provide HSS site representation as required.
Qualifications and Experience:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in safety, health, or related fields.
  • 7-10 years' experience in offshore oil/gas, major projects, FPSO, construction, decommissioning, or installation.
  • Knowledge of HSS management systems and WA safety case regimes.
  • Familiarity with Commonwealth, State, and Territory HSE legislation.
  • Experience in auditing, investigations, and incident management.
  • Causal Analysis Investigation Training (e.g., TapRoot).
  • Internal/External Auditor training.
  • Strong report writing skills.
  • Certifications: TBOSIET, CAEBS, MISC
