Your Role

This position is site-based and hands-on, focusing on the successful execution of key resource projects in Western Australia.

Roster: 2:1

Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee major projects in chemical, gas, and mining facilities, both in brownfield and greenfield settings.
  • Manage multiple work fronts simultaneously, ensuring effective manpower and material management.
  • Safely supervise contractors on-site to adhere to project timelines and objectives.
  • Utilize MS Outlook, Word, and Excel; familiarity with CMMS and Completion Management Systems is advantageous.
  • Plan and schedule commissioning activities, prioritizing subsystems and systems.
  • Prepare and complete commissioning test packs, Inspection Test Plans (ITP), and Inspection Test Records (ITR).
  • Lead a team of at least 10 tradespeople during the commissioning phase.
  • Collaborate within a team during construction and commissioning processes from energization to operational commissioning.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and compliance with standard work practices.
  • Perform maintenance, repairs, and replacements of fixed plant equipment, including troubleshooting and asset management during commissioning stages.
  • Employ engineering techniques and tools for the maintenance and repair of plant machinery.
  • Coordinate with inter-departmental supervisors to guide and support team members in achieving project goals.
  • Conduct safety assessments and ensure adherence to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations.
  • Interpret complex technical drawings and specifications to determine appropriate materials.
  • Inspect and investigate equipment to resolve issues and failures.
  • Fulfill shift cover responsibilities during various commissioning phases as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of commissioning activities, including site observations and testing processes.
  • Prepare daily progress reports on commissioning activities.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: Trade qualification in SMP, E&I, or Process Operations.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of extensive experience in gas processing plants is preferred, including skills in planning and workforce management.
  • Technical Skills: Proven proficiency in trade skills, computer literacy, and familiarity with relevant completion software.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities are essential for troubleshooting and process evaluation.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills are vital for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and providing clear technical guidance.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work effectively with others, coordinating studies and fostering positive relationships.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a dynamic environment, responding to diverse demands and changing priorities while working independently.
