Job Title: HPC Network Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced High Performance Computing (HPC) professional to join our team. As an HPC Network Specialist, you will be responsible for planning, installing, configuring and maintaining HPC network hardware and associated software to ensure the security, integrity and separation of access of data processed within our state-of-the-art facility.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and maintain robust, secure, stable and performant networks to support HPC applications.
  • Maintain currency with HPC interconnect technologies such as Infiniband, HPC network topologies, as well as ethernet.
  • Maintain familiarity with appropriate security, privacy and communications protocols to ensure security, integrity and separation of data within the HPC capability.
  • Oversee all aspects of network administration within the HPC context.
  • Take ownership of the secure and reliable connection of external research networks to the HPC capability.

The Research Technology and Operations Division delivers specialist capabilities to Defence Innovation Science and Technology (IS&T). We also provide specialised research enabling capabilities to other groups and services with Defence, the Australian Intelligence communities, our allies and/or our partners in industry and academia.
