We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Support Worker. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of people with disabilities.

Job Description:

As a Support Worker, you will be working closely with clients, their families, and stakeholders to provide support and assistance on a daily basis. This may involve accompanying individuals to appointments, assisting with daily living tasks, and providing emotional support and companionship.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Community Access: You will need to be able to accompany clients to community events and activities, ensuring they have access to opportunities and experiences that promote social interaction and personal growth.
  • Daily Life Skills: Experience with cooking, cleaning, and other domestic tasks is essential for this role, as well as the ability to assist with self-care and maintain a safe and healthy environment.
  • Mental Health: You will need to be sensitive to the mental health needs of clients and be able to provide supportive and non-judgmental interactions.
  • Leadership and Management: Strong leadership and management skills are required to effectively coordinate support services and work with clients, families, and stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Disability Support Certificate: A minimum level III Disability Support Certificate is required for this role, demonstrating your understanding of disability support principles and practices.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check: You will need to undergo an NDIS Worker Screening Check to ensure you are eligible to work with vulnerable populations.
  • Current Driver's License: A current driver's license is preferred but not essential for this role, as you may still be required to transport clients or accompany them to appointments.
  • First Aid Certificate: A First Aid Certificate is highly desirable, as you will be responsible for providing emergency first aid if needed.
  • Valid Police Check: A valid police check is mandatory for all staff members to ensure the safety and security of clients and colleagues.
