Job Title

We are seeking a highly skilled Meat Wrapper to join our team. As a Meat Wrapper, you will be responsible for labelling, wrapping and displaying meat merchandise. This includes inspecting and reassembling equipment, performing routine maintenance, cleaning and sanitizing the work area, and following health code and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and Reassemble Equipment: Inspect and reassemble all equipment sanitized the previous night.
  • Rework Display Case: Rework the display case and rotate merchandise regularly.
  • Packaging and Wrapping: Take large trays of packaged meat from a large wheeled rack and place individual packages into an automatic wrapping machine.
  • Safety and Security: Follow strict safety and security procedures at all times.
  • Label Merchandise: Label merchandise accurately and put wrapped and labelled merchandise in the display case.
  • Operate Machinery: Operate a meat grinder with care and attention to detail.
  • Quality and Consistency: Ensure quality and consistency of finished merchandise by following proper department production procedures and standards.
  • Cleanliness and Sanitation: Clean and sanitize the area throughout the day to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
  • Health Code Compliance: Perform duties to comply with the health code at all times.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance for machinery and equipment as required.
  • Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures: Follow Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) guidelines for proper cleaning and sanitation of all equipment required by this position.
  • Training and Certification: Complete and comply with 11 Commandments of Quality Assurance, Food Safety Certification, and all safety training required by the warehouse and Meat department.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Assist in other departments of the warehouse as necessary and provide and ensure prompt and courteous member service to members, employees, and vendors.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High School Certificate is required.
  • Experience: Meat wrapping or comparable experience is essential.
  • Skills: Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions carefully are crucial for success in this role.
