Job Title: Skilled Driver Labourer

Join the City of Stonnington's Infrastructure Maintenance team as a Skilled Driver Labourer and contribute to the delivery of high-quality maintenance services for the community.

About the Role

This permanent full-time position involves working as part of a team to provide designated maintenance services for the community. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of manual tasks to achieve a high standard of maintenance of roads, footpaths, stormwater drainage systems, signs and street furniture within the Municipality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and perform the smooth action and compliance of infrastructure maintenance tasks on site
  • Maintain roads, footpaths, storm water drainage system, street signs and street furniture within the Municipality
  • Work cooperatively with team members and members of the public, escalating enquiries and problems as they emerge
  • Perform manual handling tasks such as lifting, digging, raking, sweeping and the use of mechanical tools
  • Correctly use and maintain plant and equipment provided, including personal protective equipment, in accordance with manufacturer's instructions and Council's workplace health and safety policies, procedures and practices
  • Operate vehicle and tow plant as required in a safe, competent and responsible manner in accordance with the Road Traffic Regulations and Council's policies
Requirements
  • Previous experience in the maintenance of roads, drains, footpaths, street signs and/or street furniture would be highly desirable
  • Experience safely operating and maintaining mechanical tools, small plant and equipment and performing manual handling tasks
  • Communication skills and ability to work in a team
  • Medium Rigid Truck Licence Endorsement
