Project Controls Manager

Are you looking for a challenging role where you can utilize your project management skills to lead and coordinate project controls activities?

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Project Controls Manager, responsible for leading critical civil works on a major infrastructure project.

In this role, you will have the chance to contribute to the delivery of complex projects, working closely with planning and scheduling teams in a dynamic matrix environment.

The successful candidate will be a confident and proactive professional with substantial experience in cost control and earned value management.

You will be responsible for developing and managing project cost control processes, establishing and implementing commercial project cost control procedures, and overseeing month-end close, accruals, cost recording, forecasting, earned value measurement, and related audits.

Additionally, you will be responsible for monitoring and reporting project performance with time, cost, and resource tracking; providing clear, timely reporting to support proactive budget and schedule control in line with company policies.

As a leader, you will supervise and guide the Project Controls team, including training and guidance on systems, data interpretation, and best practices.

Collaboration with project teams is essential to support delivery, gather data, analyse performance, identify risks/opportunities, and support corrective action planning.

Continuous improvement and compliance are also key aspects of this role, contributing to benchmarking and lessons learned for future projects.

Required qualifications include tertiary education in Engineering, Construction, Building, Sciences, Architecture, or Project Management, or equivalent experience.

A minimum of 5–10 years of relevant experience in Construction, Engineering, Commercial Project/Cost Control, Earned Value, Risks Management, and Change Control is required.

Leadership and management experience of Commercial Project/Cost Control teams is highly desirable.

Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and Project/Cost Control and Earned Value systems is necessary.

A current Australian driver's licence (class C) is also required.
