Job Summary

As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing expert advice, support, and education to our Executive and Board, Unit Leaders, and Employees in OH&S and Emergency Management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Maintain OH&S Policies and Procedures

Develop, implement, and maintain effective Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.

Ensure Legal Compliance and Adherence

Conduct regular workplace inspections, audits, and testing to ensure adherence to Health and Safety Management Systems and Emergency procedures.

Assist in Risk Management and Investigation

Assist managers in developing and implementing OH&S risk management remediation strategies and accident/incident investigation in response to individual and trended injury and incident reporting.

Facilitate Governance and Communication

Facilitate effective OH&S and Emergency Management governance, including designated work groups and consultative committees, and provide sound communication, advice, and leadership to management and staff.

Develop Action Plans and Improvement Strategies

Develop action plans and initiate improvement strategies in relation to OH&S and Emergency Management.

Requirements
  • Tertiary Qualification or Experience

Tertiary qualification or more than 5 years' experience in Occupational Health & Safety in health or a comparable industry.

Demonstrable Experience

Demonstrable experience developing and implementing actions to enhance an organization's safety and wellbeing culture and emergency management.

Knowledge of Legislation

Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, including Occupational Health & Safety Act 2004, Equal Employment Opportunity Act 2010, and the Fair Work Act 2009.

Analysis and Reporting

Ability to analyze data and write high-level reports.

Policy Development and Interpretation

Ability to develop, interpret, and implement policy.

Communication and Liaison

Well-developed skills in liaison, negotiation, and communication with a wide range of staff and external bodies.

Time Management and Supervision

Ability to work under pressure, handling multiple tasks simultaneously, with minimal supervision.

Entitlement to Work in Australia

Entitlement to work in Australia.

Valid and Current Police Check

Valid and current Police Check and within 12 months of issue date.

Working with Children Check
