Job Overview

We are seeking a senior financial professional to join our team as a Management Accountant. This role will be responsible for delivering high-quality financial services and support to the Clinical Trials Hub.

The successful candidate will have a strong analytical background, experience in financial modelling and forecasting, and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software.

Key responsibilities include liaising with external partners, preparing and submitting timely reports, overseeing commercial payments, and coordinating audits.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering sound financial advice and solutions, and be able to maintain a high standard of financial reporting and acquittals.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with external partners to maintain communication and coordinate information sharing; prepare and submit timely reports; oversee commercial payments, ensuring accuracy and resolving issues; and coordinate audits, ensuring compliance and accurate records.
  • Deliver high-quality financial services and support to the Clinical Trials Hub, including advice and guidance on complex grants and research arrangements.
  • Utilise available finance expertise from within the specialised finance service offerings of Finance & Assurance to deliver sound, pragmatic and executable financial and commercial recommendations and solutions.
  • Maintain a high standard, culture and practice for application of research expenditure and subsequent financial reporting and acquittals to ensure activity reflects and is in accordance with grant and contract funding rules compliant with policies and represents the most efficient utilisation of resources.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Certified Practising Accountant / Chartered Accountant.
  • Previous experience at a senior administrative level in financial administration and related activities, preferably in a large organisation with complex administrative structures, policies and procedures.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with experience in financial modelling, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Experience in clinical trial financial administration, research finance, or project accounting within a complex environment is highly desirable.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial software and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
