Intensive Therapeutic Transitional Care Manager

The ITTC House Manager plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional therapeutic care to vulnerable young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the ITTC Home, ensuring the needs and safety of young people are met.
  • Collaborate with the ITTC team to develop strategies and plans for individual young people, addressing presenting issues and promoting positive outcomes.
  • Create a nurturing, therapeutic environment that supports the physical and emotional safety of each young person.
  • Safely connect young people to family and significant people/places in their lives by facilitating family time and community activities.
  • Promote democracy and engage young people and staff in a participatory environment where they can have a say and influence decision-making processes.
  • Ensure the rights of young people are protected, and their wellbeing is actively safeguarded.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in youth work, social work, community services or relevant field.
  • Experience working with young people with complex trauma and understanding of adolescent development, trauma, attachment, and resilience theory.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in therapeutic residential care, OOHC or child protection, achieving positive outcomes for vulnerable young people and families.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values, awareness of current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people, and their families.
  • Experience managing a team, supervising, coaching, and developing staff.
  • Ability to build positive relationships, work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
