We are seeking a dedicated Assessment Officer to join our team in a reputable Federal Government organisation.

Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Assess and process applications for approval.
  • Apply legislation, policies, and guidelines to make informed, evidence-based decisions.
  • Maintain accurate records across various IT systems.
  • Analyse relevant information and data to support administrative decisions.
  • Engage effectively and professionally with internal and external stakeholders to foster collaborative relationships.
  • Exercise delegated authority for the approval of applications.
  • Contribute to the development of operational procedures and policies to support consistent decision-making.
  • Prepare detailed reports and data analysis.
  • Participate in projects aimed at improving business processes related to approvals and compliance.

We are looking for individuals with the following skills and capabilities:

  • Australian Citizenship is required for Federal Government.
  • Minimum Baseline Clearance preferred.
  • Experience within the APS in roles including Grants, Claims or Assessment positions.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Excellent ability to manage workload, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in small teams and across multiple team environments.
  • Proactive in identifying and addressing risks to the team's objectives or strategic direction.

Applicants should have a strong understanding of the APS and relevant legislation, policies, and guidelines.
