We are seeking a talented Associate to join our Employment and Labour team in Canberra. Working closely with our market-leading Partner, this is an exciting opportunity to make your mark in an expanding practice. Our team is inclusive, collegiate, and committed to helping clients. Our team members at all levels have the opportunity to contribute to staff and practice development and have exposure to a range of different matters.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

Key Responsibilities

  • Representing employers in unfair dismissal, discrimination, and general protection claims
  • Advising on enterprise bargaining strategy and implementation
  • Representing employers in industrial disputes
  • Advising on disciplinary and performance issues
  • Advising on workplace bullying and harassment, including investigations
  • Advising on organisational restructures, commercial transactions, and transfer of business issues
  • Conducting business development and marketing initiatives

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience within a well-recognised and reputable employment law practice
  • Experience working across contentious and non-contentious employment matters
  • Confidence to deal directly with clients and work collaboratively across the NRFA network
  • Excellent written, drafting, and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to supervise junior lawyers and lead teams on matters
