Leumeah High School is a large, coeducational comprehensive school in South-Western Sydney with a student enrolment of 720.

Approximately 45% of students have a language background other than English and an additional 10% identify as First Nations students.

The school has a strong committed staff who continuously improve the quality of teaching using evidence-based research and pedagogical practices.

A broad academic curriculum is offered with future-focused learning at its core. All students are equipped with iPads to access innovative teaching and learning programs.

Faculties drive the implementation of innovative pedagogical processes designed to enhance each student's capacity to function in an ever-changing digital world.

Student leadership is supported through an active Student Representative Council and Aboriginal Representative Council. Students are afforded opportunities for leadership in arts sports and school service.

Key Selection Criteria
  • Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Emotional Disturbance (ED)
  • Well-developed interpersonal communication and organisational skills to foster positive relationships within the school community
  • Demonstrated ability to plan implement and evaluate individualised teaching and learning plans and programs for students with complex needs
Conditions of Employment
  • An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the relevant authorities you must commence the application process at the same time as applying for this role.
  • Applicants seeking permanent full-time or part-time employment are encouraged to apply. The recommended applicant will be offered their desired flexible work arrangement if successful.
  • A Relocation Support Payment of up to $8,000 may be available for eligible applicants.
