Security Equipment Apprenticeship

A four-year training program in security products and services is now available.

This comprehensive apprenticeship offers the unique opportunity to gain skills and knowledge in controls, intrusion detection, video surveillance, digital, and emerging technologies. As a Security Equipment Apprentice, you will learn how to commission, install, maintain, and repair both wired and wireless security systems in commercial and industrial premises.

You will develop expertise in interpreting drawings, diagrams, schedules, standards, codes, and specifications in a security equipment setting. Upon completion of this apprenticeship, you will become a qualified Security Installation Technician and earn your UEE31420 Certificate III in Security Equipment qualification.

About You:

  • Eligible to obtain a security licence
  • Passion for a career in a changing technological industry
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Previous experience or Certificate II in Electrotechnology looked upon favourably
  • High level of safety awareness and current driver's licence P Plate min required
  • Construction White Card (essential)
  • Able to successfully pass a Medical, Drug and Alcohol Screen and a Police Check
