Job Description

Job Title: Middle Leader - Vocational Education and Training Faculty

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Middle Leader to join our Vocational Education and Training faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of professionals and providing leadership and passion to support students in the area of VET.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of committed professionals in the Vocational Education and Training faculty
  • Provide leadership and passion to support students in the area of VET
  • Support the principal in implementing the vision and mission of the school
  • Assist the school leadership team in the conduct and organisation of the school

Essential Criteria:

  • Deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church
  • Commitment to academic excellence and a sound knowledge of contemporary approaches to pedagogy
  • Ability to build a learning culture of shared responsibility for quality teaching and student learning growth, informed by data
  • Ability to lead learning and foster innovation and creativity in a collaborative environment
  • Comprehensive understanding of NESA requirements and a proven ability to implement effective teaching programs
  • Knowledge and understanding of requirements of all courses within the relevant VET Curriculum

General Capabilities:

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong organisational skills

Desirable Criteria:

  • Aptitude and willingness to contribute to the broader life of St Francis Catholic College
  • Experience teaching one or more VET subjects to Stage 6

Qualifications:

  • Appropriate qualifications for teaching courses of VET to HSC Level and industry standards
  • Level C Accreditation aligned in accordance with to 'Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead in Systemic Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Wollongong' policy
  • NESA Accreditation at Proficient Teacher level or above

Working with Children Clearance:

This role is classified as child-related work and therefore we require a working with children clearance to be completed prior to your commencement with us.
