Job Summary

The Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety is seeking a highly skilled Principal Petroleum Facilities Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our regulatory assessment and compliance team, you will be responsible for leading technical roles in the assessment and compliance of the WA petroleum and energy industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical roles in the regulatory assessment and compliance of the WA petroleum and energy industry.
  • Analyze complex technical information and prepare reports on petroleum, geothermal, hydrogen, and greenhouse gas geosequestration activities.
  • Prepare, review, and provide expert advice on professional reports, assessments, audits, inspections, and monitoring activities.
  • Provide advice and recommendations related to petroleum, geothermal, hydrogen, and greenhouse gas infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical, Petroleum, Chemical, or Metallurgical Engineering or postgraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline.
  • Substantial current knowledge of and experience in oil and gas facilities engineering, including planning, design, construction, operation, management, and decommissioning of infrastructure.
  • Substantial current knowledge of conventional and unconventional petroleum, greenhouse gas geosequestration, hydrogen, and/or geothermal activities.
