Electrical Systems Specialist

This is a challenging opportunity to utilize your technical expertise and contribute to the efficient operation of water and wastewater assets across Western Australia.

As an Electrical Technical Advisor, you will play a critical role in providing guidance to maintenance teams, overseeing daily activities, and developing consultancy services that enhance electrical maintenance practices.

Key responsibilities include analyzing complex electrical systems, identifying areas for improvement, and developing strategies to optimize asset performance. You will work closely with operations, maintenance, and construction teams to drive operational excellence and deliver exceptional results.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical systems, HV/LV networks, instrumentation, communications, and SCADA assets. They will also possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as experience working with asset management systems.

You will be expected to:

  • Apply electrical engineering principles to troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Develop and implement effective maintenance strategies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Analyze data to inform decision-making and optimize asset performance
  • Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues

Requirements

  • Electrical Worker's Licence endorsed or Electrical Engineering degree
  • Experience in infrastructure operations and maintenance, knowledge of water/wastewater services (desirable)
  • Understanding of electrical installation, electrical testing, and commissioning
  • History of using asset systems with proven data analysis skills and the ability to provide simple technical reports
  • Demonstrated understanding of the legislative and regulatory constraints in the electrical industry and water industry
