About the Role:

Detail-oriented and experienced Kitchen Hands are sought after to join our team at a casual basis. The primary purpose of this role is to provide assistance in the kitchen, preparing food, and keeping the kitchen area clean and compliant with food safety requirements.

The responsibilities associated with this position may vary depending on the operational needs of the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation: Prepare and present breakfast, lunch, and dinner in accordance with resident requirements/preferences.
  • Kitchen Hand Services: Provide kitchen hand services at the facility such as modifying food texture and apportioning food accurately.
  • Cleanliness and Hygiene: Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in kitchen areas and equipment.
  • Safe Food Handling Practices: Consistently apply safe food handling practices.
  • Occupational Health and Safety: Adhere to our Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
  • Transportation: Ability to drive a van and deliver breakfast, lunch, and dinner to the residents.

Key Requirements:

  • A valid work visa in Australia.
  • Previous experience in commercial cooking or aged care catering.
  • Safe food handling practice and hygiene standards with experience in maintaining cleanliness.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with residents, customers, and team members.
  • Knowledge of relevant chemicals and safe handling practices and procedures for cooking operations.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • A manual Australian driver's licence.
