Family Support Specialist

This role offers a unique opportunity to strengthen family relationships and support the wellbeing and development of children. As a Family Support Specialist, you will work collaboratively with families and carers to provide meaningful support and guidance.

About the Role

The primary focus of this position is to facilitate safe and enjoyable family time sessions for children and young people. You will also mentor and support children and young people across various settings, building positive and respectful relationships along the way.

Main Responsibilities
  • Foster strong connections between families and their children through facilitated family time sessions.
  • Mentor and support children and young people in different settings, promoting their social and emotional development.
  • BUILD STRONG RELATIONSHIPS WITH FAMILIES AND CARERS THROUGH OPEN COMMUNICATION AND EMpathy.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting and documentation, maintaining high-quality records and case notes.
Requirements
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to build trust and rapport with diverse individuals.
  • Strong report writing and documentation skills, with proficiency in software systems used for case management.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with willingness to work non-standard hours and adjust to changing circumstances.
  • Holds current NSW Working With Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willing to obtain).
  • Possesses a valid Australian Driver's Licence.
