About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Physiotherapist to join our Physiotherapy Weekend team in the Orthopaedics and Emergency Department at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne.

The successful candidate will be involved in assessing and treating orthopaedic, plastics and emergency secondary contact patients on weekends and public holidays. Applicants will need to have excellent orthopaedic and acute ward skills.

This position is a 4-6 hour shift on weekends and public holidays. It is an expectation that staff work a shift every 6 weeks.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Provide appropriate clinical management for all orthopaedic, plastics and emergency secondary contact patients.
  2. Assessment, planning and treatment including education for all orthopaedic inpatients.
  3. Communicate assessment and treatment outcomes to nursing, medical and other Allied Health staff via documentation and handovers.
  4. Advising on the care of orthopaedic inpatients in outlying wards when requested.

Requirements

  • Degree in Physiotherapy.
  • Current AHPRA Registration.
  • Relevant post graduate qualifications (completed or working towards completion).
  • Extensive experience in managing a wide range of physiotherapy conditions, in particular soft tissue injuries, spinal and peripheral joint injuries.
  • High level of clinical reasoning and clinical knowledge.
