System Security and Infrastructure Specialist

Safeguarding an organization's digital infrastructure is a critical responsibility. This role ensures secure and efficient IT operations by monitoring network security, responding to cyber threats, maintaining system integrity, and providing technical support.

This position involves implementing security policies, overseeing device management, and educating employees on cybersecurity best practices. Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring and analyzing network traffic for security incidents, anomalies, and unauthorized access
  • Investigating and responding to security breaches, containing and mitigating risks promptly
  • Configuring, managing, and auditing firewalls, network ACLs, and encryption protocols
  • Overseeing and maintaining AWS networking components, including VPCs, subnets, security groups, and network ACLs
  • Conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify and address weaknesses
  • Developing, implementing, and regularly updating security policies and procedures in line with current threats and best practices
  • Managing endpoint protection and ensuring all devices are compliant with security standards
  • Overseeing user access controls, ensuring least-privilege principles and proper authorization to critical systems
  • Educating and training employees on cybersecurity awareness and safe IT practices
IT Infrastructure and Device Management

This specialist oversees the setup and management of Microsoft 365 email and OneDrive, including user accounts, licensing, and permissions. Responsibilities also include handling onboarding and offboarding of devices, performing routine maintenance on systems reliability and security, and supporting data backup and recovery processes.

Technical Support and Reporting

This System Security and Infrastructure Specialist provides IT support, assisting employees with installations, login issues, and technical inquiries both in-person and remotely. Accurate reports on security incidents and mitigation strategies are maintained for ongoing improvements.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or similar field
  • 2+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Strong communicative skills to liaise effectively with multiple departments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address operational challenges, resolve issues, and implement effective solutions
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, including email setup, licensing management, and OneDrive maintenance
  • Knowledge of network monitoring tools to detect and respond to threats
  • Competence in backup and disaster recovery procedures for data protection
