About the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Director of Medicine to lead and support the delivery of high-quality healthcare services at Mackay Hospital and Health Service. As a key member of our senior medical leadership team, you will provide strategic guidance, foster collaboration, and ensure excellence in clinical governance.
You will lead the Department of Medicine, mentoring both senior and junior medical staff while collaborating with teams across various specialties to ensure first-class care is delivered. In addition to your leadership duties, you'll maintain a clinical role, working as Consultant/Specialist.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic leadership and ensure compliance with National Quality and Safety standards
- Mentor and guide a team of skilled medical professionals in delivering high-quality patient care
- Work collaboratively with other senior staff to develop innovative models of care
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, focusing on patient flow, resource management, and clinical outcomes
- Participate in research and academic activities, contributing to the development of future healthcare leaders
A competitive salary package up to AU$582k depending on experience and qualifications, including a management allowance, motor vehicle allowance, professional development fund, and additional benefits such as private health insurance allowances, retention bonuses, and 12% employer-paid superannuation.
