Job Title

A senior professional is required to lead the risk management framework across the investment function, driving a sound risk culture and meeting regulatory obligations.

  • The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Operational Risk and Compliance to develop, implement, maintain, and monitor the risk management framework, promoting a strong risk culture across the team.

Key Accountabilities

Some key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Collaborating with the Head of Operational Risk and Compliance to promote risk culture across the investment team and drive continuous improvement of the operational risk management framework.
  • Working with other senior managers to assist business owners in managing risk issues across the investment team.
  • Managing the operation of the risk management framework as it relates to the investment functions, including assessing risk profiles and exposures, controls testing and assurance, and overseeing incident remediation and responses to audit findings.
  • Leading day-to-day interactions with the second-line risk and compliance team on behalf of the investment team.
  • Preparing risk reports for the investment function.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, the ideal candidate should possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in accounting, law, economics, business, or equivalent.
  • (Desirable) Membership of a professional body such as the Risk Management Institute of Australia or the GRC Institute.
  • Demonstrated experience in risk and compliance management in the financial services industry, ideally in investment management and/or superannuation.
  • Thorough understanding of risk and compliance management tools, techniques, and best practices methodologies.
  • Experience with investment management operations.
  • Demonstrated commercial approach to compliance risk management.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize competing deadlines.
