About Our Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Border Force Officer - Maritime Security Specialist. This is a unique opportunity to work in a multi-agency taskforce with a dynamic culture, exposure to a variety of tasks in a role that will keep you challenged and engaged.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initiative, flexible, resourceful with and an enthusiastic approach to work
  • Good decision making skills and the ability to exercise good judgement under pressure
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Work competently with Microsoft suite i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong time management and prioritisation to effectively manage multiple tasks
  • Stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to research and analyse information to inform recommendations and decisions
  • Provide accurate, consistent, timely and appropriate advice to internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to understand and apply relevant legislation and work within delegated authority.
Requirements
  • Fulfil the Department's minimum requirements by satisfactorily answering all screening questions during the application process
  • Hold or have the ability to obtain and maintain at minimum a Negative Vetting 1 security clearance
  • Swear an oath or make an affirmation into the ABF and be uniformed if the position requires
  • Actively participate in career management (postings and deployments either intra or interstate).

The Department may provide relocation assistance to eligible APS employees required to relocate. The level of assistance will vary depending on the reason for relocating and your personal circumstances.
