Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our team at Turner & Townsend. As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering a mix of retail and commercial developer projects. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading company in the industry and to develop your skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Authority approvals: Seek approval from CDC or DA before starting work on site. Liaise with certifiers, consultants, and builders to obtain all necessary documents.
  • Document management system: Record and distribute design documents, meeting minutes, and other project information via a software system.
  • Design: Liaise with planners, engage external architects, traffic planners, and structural designers to finalize drawings.
  • Tendering: Finalize project scope, prepare cost plans, tender documents, and conduct tender briefings and interviews.
  • Construction coordination: Liaise with external stakeholders, including fit-out builders, nominated security, signage, and IT contractors.
  • Construction coordination: Liaise with internal stakeholders, including property, design, and finance teams.
  • Finance: Forecast cash flow, assess payment claims, and variations.
  • Safety: Conduct safety observations and encourage best practices with the builder.
  • Reporting systems: Use Zircon, Asana, SAP, and Smart Sheets to manage project information.

Requirements

  • A recognized degree or equivalent qualification in a technical field, such as construction management, project management, engineering, or architecture.
  • Ability to travel to project sites.
  • Hardworking, driven, self-sufficient, proactive, and motivated individual.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and remain focused under pressure.
  • Ability to handle conflict and diffuse tension in a team.
  • Ability to lead external project teams and internal project team members.
  • Ability to communicate difficult information tactfully.
  • Ability to take initiative and problem-solve.
  • Ability to delegate roles and responsibilities and form a cohesive team.
  • Planning and managing quality, safety, health, and environment issues on projects.
  • Risk identification and management.
  • Establishing effective project governance, processes, and systems.
  • Project planning, including ensuring the production of a detailed project plan.
  • Advising on the procurement of contractors and consultants.
  • Coordinating with the overall cross-functional project team.
  • Managing the change control process.
  • Monitoring and advising on project finances.
  • Managing the flow of project information between the team and the client.
  • Ensuring the production of formal project progress and other reports.
