Airfield Support Specialist

We seek an experienced and dedicated individual to join our team as a casual airfield support specialist at our Cairns facility.

This is a part-time role, working on an 'as needed' basis. As an airfield support specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient turnaround of aircraft at our facility.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Marshal and tow aircraft using approved equipment to facilitate smooth operations.
  2. Assist with refueling and provide ancillary services such as toilet servicing.
  3. Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the airfield and hangar area.
  4. Collaborate with colleagues to manage hangar activities and record aircraft movements efficiently.
  5. Participate in procedures to mitigate the impact of adverse weather conditions.
  6. Monitor lounge and FBO area cleanliness to maintain premium standards.
  7. Provide exceptional service to VIP passengers and flight crews.
  8. Respond promptly to phone calls and interact professionally with clients.
  9. Identify opportunities to offer additional services and enhance customer experience.
Safety & Compliance
  1. Adhere to all relevant safety policies and procedures, including WHS and aviation regulations.
  2. Comply with established protocols for airside access and airport security.
  3. Evaluate situations appropriately and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary.
  4. Store ground support equipment correctly and ensure adherence to tarmac safety protocols.
  5. PARTICIPATE IN ongoing training and development initiatives, including safety procedures and emergency response planning.
Requirements
  1. Demonstrated experience in customer-facing roles.
  2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  3. Superior time management and prioritization skills, enabling effective multitasking in fast-paced environments.
  4. High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure, maintaining composure in challenging situations.
  5. Flexibility regarding working hours, including weekends and varying shifts.
  6. Physical capability to perform tasks in various weather conditions, while maintaining a high level of productivity.
