Consultant Anaesthesiologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Anaesthetist to join our team in Rockhampton, Central Queensland. As a Consultant in Anaesthetics, you will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality anaesthesia services to patients across the region.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Director of Anaesthesia in managing the department's operations, providing clinical and administrative support, and working closely with other healthcare professionals to deliver patient-centred care.

As a senior member of our team, you will contribute to the development and implementation of departmental policies, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and engage in ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date with best practices in anaesthesia.

• Provide high-quality anaesthesia services, both clinical and administrative, in accordance with commonly accepted good clinical practice and ANZCA Guidelines.

• Conduct acute pain service ward rounds, pre-anaesthetic assessment clinics, and provide anaesthesia for endoscopy, general surgery, orthopaedics, obstetrics, gynaecology, urology, ophthalmology, ENT, dental, and investigative services.

• Participate in the after-hours and weekend on-call roster for the Department of Anaesthesia.

• This position will primarily be based in either Rockhampton or Gladstone but may require provision of anaesthesia assistance for cover to Biloela and Emerald Hospitals as needed.

• Be registered (or eligible for registration) as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia.

• Hold Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College for Anaesthetists (FANZCA) or equivalent as an overseas-trained specialist who has completed their training in the UK, Ireland, Canada, USA, or New Zealand.
