Coordinating Logistics Expert
Gain skills for life in a unique 12-month Gap Year experience with the Australian Defence Force (ADF).
Movements Coordinators play a vital role in supporting ADF operations and exercises. As part of one of Australia's largest logistics organisations, you'll develop expertise in coordinating complex operations, from transporting small specialist groups to large-scale deployments of entire units on international missions and exercises by land, air, and sea assets.
Throughout your Gap Year program, you'll receive guidance from dedicated and professional Army personnel who will help you get the most out of this experience.
Your training begins at Kapooka in Wagga Wagga, NSW, where you'll complete approximately 9 weeks of recruit training. This training involves physical conditioning, weapon handling and shooting, first aid, as well as drill and field craft. It's challenging but prepares you for any situation.
After completing Initial Military Training, you'll start your Initial Employment Training in Bandiana, VIC, where you'll learn the skills of a Movements Coordinator. You'll then be posted to one of the many Army bases across Australia. You may be called upon to use your skills in barracks, on exercises, or in support of domestic operations.
In addition to receiving a competitive salary around $60,000 per annum, after finishing your Gap Year program, you can choose to continue your career in the Army or leverage the skills and experiences gained to gain an edge in future careers. There's no obligation to serve beyond the one-year program period.
