Family Mediation Specialist

This critical role involves guiding families through separation with a child-focused approach, helping them resolve disputes around parenting and property. As a Family Mediation Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering mediation using various models depending on client needs.

Navigating complex, high-conflict situations with sensitivity and effective strategies is crucial in this position. You will conduct client assessments and facilitate joint or shuttle mediations, maintaining accurate records and upholding client service standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Accreditation as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (Attorney General's Department).
  • Tertiary qualifications in Law, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in family dispute resolution and child-inclusive practices.
  • Deep understanding of domestic and family violence, child protection, and mental health.
  • Accreditation under the Australian Mediator and Dispute Resolution Accreditation Standards (AMDRAS).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in group facilitation is highly regarded.
