About the Role
The Family Violence Practitioner will provide trauma-informed case management support to persons who use family violence whilst engaged in the Motivation for Change (MFC) Program. This program addresses the significant barriers migrant and refugee men can face when engaging with mainstream family violence services.
The Practitioner will assess, monitor, plan and manage cases, as well as advocate for services to uphold the safety of victim survivors. Case management support aims to provide opportunities to focus on and highlight physical, psychological and emotional safety for all concerned.
The Practitioner will work closely with Group Facilitators and Partner Contact workers to monitor and respond to safety concerns. While the majority of casework is done by phone, the Practitioner is required to travel and provide face-to-face support and/or outreach as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, monitor, plan and manage cases involving migrant and refugee men using family violence
- Advocate for services to uphold the safety of victim survivors
- Work closely with Group Facilitators and Partner Contact workers to monitor and respond to safety concerns
- Provide trauma-informed case management support to individuals and families
