About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a Staff Specialist in Rheumatology to join our team at NSW Health. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for providing expert medical assessment and management of patients with musculoskeletal, rheumatologic, and autoimmune diseases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care and management of patients with a range of musculoskeletal and autoimmune diseases.
  • Develop and maintain networks with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Contribute to the education and training of junior medical staff and non-medical staff at our hospital.
  • Participate in research and quality improvement activities relevant to the specialty.
  • Work effectively and harmoniously with medical and other health services colleagues as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare team.
Requirements
  • Specialist registration or eligibility for specialist registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Physicians (FRACP) and/or equivalent specialist recognition with accredited training in Rheumatology.
  • Clinical experience in Rheumatology with the ability to develop and maintain networks.
  • Demonstrated experience in medical education at both an undergraduate and postgraduate level, and dedication to the education of non-medical staff of the hospital.
  • Commitment to evidence-based best practice and to continued personal and professional development.
  • Demonstrated experience in and commitment to research relevant to the role and needs of the Department.
  • Proven capacity and/or experience in the provision of effective high-quality services, demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position, including evidence of participation in quality improvement activities relevant to the specialty.
  • Demonstrate the skills and attitudes appropriate as a Senior Medical Practitioner, including modelling a high standard of professional behaviour to junior medical staff.
