Research Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to join our team at Monash University, working on the development of photonic circuits for microcombs. This project focuses on the use of self-calibrating photonic chips in various optical systems, including optical communications links, artificial neural networks, and scientific instruments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop photonic chip architectures for microcombs
  • Characterize and optimize photonic devices for high-speed communication
  • Collaborate with international partners to advance the field of optical microcombs
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field
  • Strong background in optics, photonics, and communication engineering
  • Excellent research and analytical skills
What We Offer

This project is part of the ARC Centre of Excellence in Optical Microcombs for Breakthrough Science (COMBS), a large dynamic community that spans across Australia and beyond. Our research aims to leverage microcombs to make the most of the bandwidth advantage, enabling energy-efficient functionality at ultra-high bandwidths.
