We're seeking an experienced Quality and Roasting Professional to lead our roasting and quality operations in Melbourne.
This key role is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality, sustainability, and consistency in our coffee products.
You'll oversee roasting schedules, manage green bean inventory, champion quality control processes, and troubleshoot equipment issues.
A strong understanding of roasting science, cupping, and sensory evaluation is essential. Experience with preventative maintenance, continuous improvement tools, and HACCP/food safety frameworks is also required.
This role offers a unique blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a collaborative work environment.
About the Role
- Lead and train team members in roasting and quality operations
- Owning roasting schedules and green bean inventory management
- Championing quality control processes including tastings, cuppings, grading, and reporting
- Overseeing roasting plant performance and preventative maintenance plans
- Troubleshooting equipment issues and managing external technical relationships
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders, including coffee, operations, and commercial teams
- Driving continuous improvement in efficiency, sustainability, and product consistency
- Supporting and implementing food safety, HACCP, and quality certification standards

Qualifications and Requirements
- At least 5 years' experience in coffee or related production/quality roles
- Proven track record in roasting operations and quality assurance
- Confident leading teams and training others in process and best practice
- Strong understanding of green bean handling, equipment maintenance, and supply planning
- Experience working with preventative maintenance and continuous improvement tools
- Skilled in cupping, sensory evaluation, and flavour profiling (Q Grader preferred)
- Knowledge of HACCP, food safety, and compliance frameworks
